The ADE3xxx is a family of highly integrated display engine ICs, enabling the most advanced, flexible, and cost-effective system-on-chip solutions for LCD display applications. The ADE3xxx line-up covers the full range of applications from XGA analog only to dual SXGA Smart Panel designs. All twelve ADE3xxx devices are pin-to-pin compatible and use a common software platform.

Figure 2 showed a current source formed by relying on the matching characteristics of a diode and the emitter base junction of a transistor. Extension of this idea to a differential circuit is shown in Figure 6A. In a differential pair, the input voltage splits the biasing current in a logarithmic ratio. (The usual assumption of linearity is useful only for small signals.) Since the input to the differential pair in Figure 6A is the difference in voltage across the two diodes, which in turn is proportional to the log of the ratio of drive currents, it follows that the ratio of diode currents and the ratio of collector currents are linearly related and independent of amplitude. If we combine this circuit with the voltage to current converter of Figure 3, we have Figure 6B. The output of the differential amplifier is now proportional to the input voltage over a large dynamic range, thereby improving linearity while minimizing drift and noise factors.

The D-channel is primarily intended to carry signalling information for circuit switching through the ISDN network. The SNIC provides the capability of having a 16 kbit/s or full 64 kbit/s D-channel by allocating the B1-channel timeslot to the D-channel. Access to the depacketized D-channel is only granted through the parallel microprocessor port.
The FAULT output goes high whenever the Si9976DY detects an output short circuit or a VDD undervoltage condition. The detection of the short circuit inhibits operation and sets a fault latch which is cleared by a rising edge on the enable line, EN. The VDD undervoltage condition inhibits operation and indicates a fault but is nonlatching.
In the CA339, the output voltage VOUT is detected by R1, R2. The detected output voltage is then compared to the internal voltage reference by the error amplifier. Both a current limiting circuit for short circuit protection, and a chip enable circuit are included.
BCD or seven segment outputs are available. Digit strobes are decoded internally by a divide by six Johnson counter. This counter scans from MSD to LSD. By bringing the SET input low, this counter will be forced to the MSD decade count. During this time the segment outputs are blanked to protect against display burn out.
DESCRIPTION The M28C17 is a 2K x 8 low power Parallel EEPROM fabricated with SGS-THOMSON pro- prietary single polysilicon CMOS technology. The device offers fast access time with low power dis- sipation and requires a 5V power supply. The M28C17 offers the same features than the M28C16, in addition to the Ready/Busy pin. The circuit has been designed to offer a flexible microcontroller interface featuring both hardware
